i think cell phones should be allowed because as long as the students are cheating with them and they are paying attention in class and doing their work there isnt a problem! Everyone is making it seem like its a bad thing and its not! You never know when there is going to be an emergency or anything.

Its always been about if teens should be allowed to have phones in school but have you ever thought about what teens are doing with there phones in my school, people always have them on there desks and there seems to be more problems with them out, teachers and students fighting on weither there phone should be out, in my opion teens should be allowed phones but to use them durning class and or useing them them any where in school well thats a diffrent story, Its to much of a distraction, school is a place to learn not to socialize or at least not with phones. |

We certainly need to allow cellphones,ipods,PSP's because they ain't no harm. Not all people have texting on cellphones so they can't cheat.........

i say cell phones should be in school! what if you are a very very shy person and there are only certain you talk to, say you have a "girly problem" and you need something to support it? you are able to text a friend during class and have them bring you something to the bathroom! OR maybe if somebody is in trouble and you need to help them out!!!!!!!!! |

We should not throw the baby away with the bath/dirty water. Every innovation MUST come with its attendant problems/challenges. What we need to do is to manage the challenges. As the last contributor said, we should look at the period of emergency. Just a dial on that phone might save the child! The use of Cell phones in the classroom should be well managed and allowed! |

I think cell phones should not be allowed in school. The reason why is because do you want your mom an dad calling you or texting during the day. This is one of the few spots that your parents are not around you. |

It is not about calling, rather it is about life-saving. May we be saved from "Had I known, I should have called". Anything that can save a life worths the risk. Cell phones should be allowed and should be seriously managed to take care of the fear of anti-cell phones in schools. |

For a Speech&Debate class I am suppose to debate if cellphones should be allowed in school and I need help... Plz help...
Cellphones should be allowed and not allowed.Cellphones should be allowed because what if you get kidnapped or hurt orthere is an emergency... You can call your parents for help. Cellphones should be not allowed because not all people have phones... They might steal it or be jealous. People also can video tape an embarrasing moment and send it to everyone... I think they should allow people to bring it but should be kept in their lockers and not show off.
