when i was a teen i smoked weed because of the medical benefits. and at the time there was reports of marijuana benefiting cancer patients and had to see my mother pass away from cancer when i was 9. so assuming that i would get it i decided to start smoking. now from smoking i have really seen the medical benefits of the drug. and i know lot of people could responsible use and rely on the drug without the notion of a "gateway" to stronger drugs.
see, if i was merely looking for a buzz. i would of stopped smoking and move on to something stronger. people with the intend to get f*#ked up would try marijuana and not be satisfied, and move on the bigger and better. because our government classified marijuana with coke, meth and other drugs. people that try weed thinking it's 10/10 drug, burn out thinking "well, weed wasn't as bad as they said, so i'll do this line." which leads to addictions. it's the building up of how bad marijuana is, which has people doing more

I haven't read every message on this post...so sorry if I'm repeating. My opinion?
Weed isn't the devil...it isn't going to kill you, it doesn't even do all THAT much damage...the physical effects are there, yes, but to me its more the social effects and the psychological effects of addiction. The reason I personally dont do drugs is the risk of becoming addicted, the risk of moving deeper and deeper into places where my self-control will breach its limits and I could hurt myself. This is a personal choice based on my belief that I have an addictive personality, and I don't believe that no one should do drugs, its a personal choice. Drugs are, like many things in life, a plug for our problems. Why most teenagers/university students do drugs? They can't answer the questions that people ask them "What do you want to do with your life?", so they plug it up with this wonderful calming thing called weed. or acid or cocainne. Is this solving anything? No. Is this Dangerous? Yes. Will you suffer serious injury or psycholical harm from doing drugs? Maybe yes and maybe no. The reason I think drugs are unhealthy is not because they may make brain cells decrease over time or cause blood pressure to rise, rather they represent a larger problem which they're plugging up. Its not healthy to rely on such a method for numbing away your problems. Again, these are my view points, every situation is unique, sometimes social drug usage can be fine for some people and result in no long term harm...but I think its too much to risk for gaining too little back.

wll i myself( 16) do it jus becuz find bein high fun...simple as that its fun...its fun 2 be high wit your friends and stuff. i think some people look into it 2 deep.by sayin they want to be important to the world...uhhhh teens arent dumb how doessmokin make you important 2 the world?

I myself am a constant weed smoker and the reason people smoke weed is to get high to feel the high not because a friend is doing it. Some kids do research and find out you cant die from it so it makes them enjoy the high thinking there's no problem with it; but tobacco kills focus on that not weed. LEGALIZE NON LEGAL LIES.

Look, I smoke pot. I started when I was 13, and I have no regrets at all. I've tried some of the 'harsher' drugs, but one things for sure, Im not gonna replace weed for the harsher drugs.
If marijuana effects people so much, then how come since I've been smoking it everyday, Im more happier, more relaxed and calm.. and it also helped me pass my ncea this year.
Marijuana is not a bad drug, the only bad effect it has is that you may loose a bit of short term memory. But theres no long term effects.
Its the persons choice if they want to smoke pot, not yours. So just let the person do what they want, if you think they're ruining their life? LET THEM! It not your life is it?
And plus, marijuana would be legal if the government could get tax off it.

Too much money is wasted trying to battle marijuana when the reality is the stuff is harmless, the money needs to be spent trying to fight REAL drugs. Alcohol is the drug responsible for more deaths than all of them but why is it legal? Because the government makes money off of it and because its "socially acceptable". People worry about teens smoking weed, but by making it illegal makes it easier to get because i can guarentee i myself (age 18) can get in my car and within 30 minutes have a fat sack of bud WAY WAY before i can acquire lets say a 30 pack of beer. Honestly, i smoke marijuana every week, i have a job, and i'm going to school for radiation therapy. I'd much rather be labeled a "pothead" or "stoner" than be an "alcoholic" or "junkie". |

I think teens smoke weed as a form of entertainment. Lets be real here, getting high is fun as hell and its easier to obtain than alcohol in most states. Some kids like to go hunting, some like poker, others video games, and still others like to get really high and sometimes do all of the above. Marijuana is much less toxic to our bodies than alcohol so get real and let us enjoy this mental stimulus. If it was legalized then it would be easier to regulate and the government could make a killer profit off of it while at the same time removing ties between marijuana smokers and the black market. At the end of the day we need to ask just one question when it comes to dealing with problem children; where are the parents?

I think teens smoke weed because of curiosity. i smoke about 3-4 times i day and i dont feel any side effects i still do good in school. so i dont see why is is illegal. The only reason a see why its illeagal is because i could lead to other drugs. and if they made it leagal it would prevent us from going into a depression. And a little marijuana is good for you. |

i can tell u from experience that yes some kids smoke to releave stress and yes weed can get mindly addicted but you dont have to smoke.I just gave my self a test to see if i could stop smoking for 2 months and it was no problem.Weed makes sex feel better,food taste better,and makes stressful times a little easier.Marijuana or the gatewate drug is not addictive!!! It all depends on the person and the will power you have.So i can proudly say dat i dont do drugs i smoke weed. |
