We do drugs, because of the effects they have on us, expunge these thoughts of peer pressure, doing it to act cool, doing it because celeb's do it, doing it because we have a terrible life or whatever imaginary excuse you can create.
The reason we take pills, smoke weed, or snort lines is because it gives us a rush that lasts for hours, it is entertaining, we feel euphoric while it lasts, nothing can match this feeling, this high.
It's not the parents fault, or the politicians fault, or the schools fault. It's too hard to police what teens do, and to blame a single person is pointless and gets you nowhere, as if a teen wants to do it, he or she will accomplish it.

I believe that there are many reasons that teens do drugs and for everyone it is different. For some it is to RUN AWAY from their PROBLEMS. Other reasons is it is something that they can rebel with against society and against their parents. Other reasons may be that peer pressure (which i dont believe has the largest impact), also they fact that it is something in their life that they can take control of for themselves. To teens it is important to have control of stuff in their life. Not giving us control of our lives is one of the worst things that a parent can do. If a parent controls a teen's life then we wont have any sense of independence in our lives ever. Drugs are just one way to control something. |

Peer pressure is a big problem but most teens do it because of all the things going on in their lives and these teens don't need that peer pressure. If they feel they want time to forget all the things going on they'll go buy it no one needs to encourage them to do it. Boredom is one of the many reasons to because most teens have nothing to do or no money to do it. Some teens do it because they're told not to, just for the thrill of being caught. The worst thing to do is yell at them, no matter how much you want to most of these teens only get angrier giving them that feeling of wanting to get away causing them to buy more. We have to develop a way to understand these feelings we've all experienced them |

Drugs to me is very bad people only do them to get away frome the world and the people who is in it.People who do drugs they just dont no hoe much it will hurt them and there parents im perrty sure no pareant wants to see there child died in a coffen.that what i think about drugs and why people do them. |

they do drugs cause being sober is boringest state of mind
they know the side effects

This is a good thread, it's nice to hear the teen's (or people who are pretending to be teens) side of why they do drugs. My personal belief on teenage drug usage is a combination of personal choice and peer pressure. I believe that younger kids are pressured into smoking marijuana from their older friends. While this may be true, it is no reason to believe that peer pressure is the sole reason for teenage smoking. It is inevitable that after a while the smoker will get caught (whether the person who catches them be a parent, uncle or friend) and thus will realize the social implications of smoking too much. So in the end smoking simply comes down to a personal choice.
newaiys I ended up writing a lot more than I had intended to, but consider my arguement specifically for marijuana smokers.

Teens do drugs because people usually cause it Sometimes it is caused by stress. Stress from school, stress from friends, stress from family.
but also sometimes teens do drugs because they want to impress people or just feel good. It is there choice to do drugs...not ours so i think that we should let them make there own choices...Im not saying drugs are g ood or bad im just saying that we should just pay more attention to the way we act towrds people if we really don't want them doing drugs.

I think that there is no way to get rid of drugs people have to want to quit. And i believe we should start spending money on the people who want to quit instead of using it on people who are addicted for life that wuod have saved us alots of money a long time ago but some people really arn't that smart i guess. And you have the power to say no! |

. take this in because what i am telling u is true because i hav had experience in this, if yuo are doing thing like drugs, smoking or drinking it has a major impact on ur budies because they can actually see wat it is doen to you so if u are one of these ppl stop and think WAT IS MORE IMPORTANT FRIENDS or DRUGS? wat u do effects every one and very well destroies your life NO JOKE! Ucan do better no matter wat anyone says! THIS IS FOR EVERY one WHO is DOING drugs OR THINKING OF doing DRUGD
