I'm glad for all these historical reminders. I'm aware of the support that some European countries have given to the United States in executing her role as the Police of the world in the past. I'm also aware of the support that the US has given to some European countries in the past e.g. Marshall Plan. I think what we should be clamouring for is how to make this world a new and better place for all us. European countries and the US have complimentary roles to play in making the world a better place. Jointly and severally, we have all made mistakes in the past. Pointing accusing fingers or hating one country will never solve the global problems. The developing countries are looking up to Europe and the US (as leaders) to act together for the betterment of humanity.

Wowah woah woah, who said we were the most powerful. The world stereotypically said that since one idiot said we are most powerful that EVERY person in america is a arrogant fool. Um no. Didn't think I'dhave to pull out the never judge a book by it's cover thing out, which in this situation means don't judge a country by some of it's citizens, groups or government. To get to the point doesn't everyone know China is the richest country. I don't know about the whole GPD think, but overall China is still richer. More people, huge military(they can send a army of 200,000,000 men whenever they want), and where do you think everyone went to China beacause it was cheap. Now the world economic tree has been planted and taken root in China. Slowly, China will become more powerful unless some of them keep up the "only wanting a son" and "abandoning thier daughter's" thing.

I'll do my best to comment on this topic, as it pleases me to do so. I live in Houston, Texas, therefore, I am an American. I notice a lot of hostility toward Americans from non-Americans and Americans alike. I see the corruption, just as everyone else does. I see the invasions of countries with hidden motives. I am the first one to admit that American Government is shadier than sitting next to a fat woman on a sunny day. What does that mean? Well....nothing. We would all like our governments to service our every need and to do what's in our best interest and not their own but the fact of the matter is that it isn't gong to happen. Don't get me wrong, they will hopefully provide an environment for us to prosper and be healthy, but you can't expect individuals with open resources for money and power to be able to handle it. I know I wouldn't be able to. As much as I want to help the world I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be dipping into the "honeypot" every now and then. I'm sorry if the rest of you out there are saints but I'm not. I'm not saying I would spend 75 Billion, I'm just talking about a little kickback. Now if I had the power to protect my investments with military force why wouldn't I do it? I only have a limited time on earth and I want to be cozy and safe while I'm here. I'm not saying don't give to the world. I would love to be able to provide healthcare to the world, food, and housing. I would like nothing better. But that is a different topic. I can be both giving and selfish at the same time. I think the world hates us because we symbolize the raw basist ego that lies within the individual. The need to aquire personal wealth and protect it at any cost. America is a corporation, and it functions perfectly as one.

i dislike some american ways  due to things like naming the baseball competition "the world series". It’s not the world.  I know this is very insignificant compare to other points made and it’s really not that important; I just think it’s an example of the ignorance shown by some of them. Imagine if England named the football premier league the world league. That would be ignorant.

I do have American friends though and as a whole I believe the people mean well and i question the amount the people are actually listened to but every day England turns more and more like America and to be honest it scares me. I don’t understand the gun culture over there and why a lot of people need to have them?  Can someone please explain why it is necessary?  Also I don’t understand why there is no/little free health service. Surely the most important thing in life is your health and the health of people in your life. Surely it must be available for everyone especially in a country as great as America where it is possible. It would scare me  to know that I could be in a position where someone I cared about could be helped but wasn`t because of lack of funds. I just think that some americans have there priorties in the wrong order (probably the ones in power)

but im lookin forward to obama`s reign and hopefully he`ll do some good!

After the victory of Obama, I thought the world should have stopped this hatred for the USA. When are we going to have a black president in the UK?
